Grýmoran

Descendants of Grým the Bold and his band of adventurers, the Grýmoran arrived on Grýmnir ten thousand years ago. They found a land of various warring elven nations and vast reserves of relatively untapped natural resources. In particular, they set their eyes upon a sparsely inhabited and unclaimed mountain range that pierces the heart of the continent. They settled there and shaped the peaks to their liking over the millenia.

For most of their first century on the continent, the Grýmoran delved into the mountains in search of riches. Though they found little at first to interest their kindred back home, they carved for themselves a fertile homeland beneath the high peaks, for the Ygrým Mountains are near hollow with cave systems that thrum with subterranean life.

In the third century after their arrival, they fell afoul of the Weryn nation to their south, with whom they had been trading in several base metals. Facing invasion, they appealed to the Conna for aid, knowing of their long-time enmity with the Weryn. During the war that followed, a mutual respect and kindred spirit developed between the two peoples. This bond deepened over the millennia, and eventually the Grýmoran came to adopt some aspects of Conna culture.
