Egrandïr

The second Äzh'Kuníl left much of  Westryn in wrack and ruin, flinging her from Egrandïr's embrace into the tempestuous currents of the Eververge and out the other side. A world of shifting shadow and fiery magma made anew by her presence -- scoured clean of life, sunlight, and warmth at some time long forgotten, her sky choked with billowing clouds of foul-smelling ash and devastating squalls of mercury hail. The one habitable zone on the planet is Westryn and the atmosphere and water she brought with her through the Rend-Step -- miraculously preserved by what appears under the light of all gods to be a Locutor Screen on a scale we never thought possible; generated by a rapidly deteriorating and maddeningly mysterious mechanus of ancient Vol'Säri make. She floats above the clouds of acid and crushing pressure of the surface far below, held aloft by so-far unknown means.   Sën'Kuníl--as I have dubbed this new Rending World in the tongue of the ancient Vol'Säri--is a harsh place. Beyond the wondrous shield of amber light that protected Westryn through her transit and remains in place to guard her borders and bring light to her darkness lies a barren wasteland dotted with the ruins of an advanced civilization long since reduced to dust. All of our realms' brightest locutionists, scholars, and archaeologists tasked with the study of the engine that powers the shield and the drive that transported Westryn across realities agree on only one point -- she is failing. If power is not restored, the shield will fall - and Westryn will be consumed by the darkness and blight of the Rending World.   There is yet hope, for the ruins on the surface of this cursed world appear to be of the same make as the mysterious and ancient drive itself. Putting aside their rivalries and feuds, the survivors of Westryn have united in common cause to preserve their faltering savior and destroyer. Perhaps, in time, they may even discover a way to return Westryn to a more hospitable world.
