The Rhwyg-Fànasai
Long thought to have been constructed under the orders of Brënin Ùag during his millenias-long reign, these stone gates harness the power of the Void to enable instantaneous travel across any distance. The secret to their operation has long been lost, and their existence has been all but forgotten by most. After his defeat, Brënin Ùag's children imprisoned his consciousness within them. The peoples of the Western Continent fear them, for it is said that to activate them will unleash him once again and plunge the world into an age of darkness and despair. These fears appear to have been well-founded.
Recent research has revealed that their origins are far older than the arrival of the Neithryn. The discovery and translation of several newly unearthed Vol'Säri texts within the ruins of Balsgiath places their existence well before the arrival of any other race on Westryn.
