Sigil - Pirate Group
The pirate group known as ‘Sigil’ specializes in the use of advanced jamming technology, stealth, and coordinated ambushes. Although small in number, its members are patient and highly disciplined, leading some observers to speculate that the group is made of defectors from some corporate paramilitary.
Most Sigil ambushes follow a similar script: the target ship’s computer systems begin to malfunction, propulsions systems cut out, weapons systems go dark, and any distress call is muted. The group’s moniker ‘Sigil’ comes from the cryptic symbol that flashes across the ship’s monitors before the engines die.
After disabling a ship, the pirates usually board it with small squads of zeos and support troops, force the crew into the escape pods, and leave the area with the hijacked ship in tow. On rare occasions when Sigil marines can’t gain entrance to the ship, they will swiftly cut their way through the hull, giving victims a short window to organize a defense. According to survivors, the pirates’ EVA suits are sleek, black, and covered with intricate, mystical symbols.
