Burning Torch - Pirate Group
Burning Torch (commonly known as “the Torch”) is a group of pirates who specialize in hit-and-run tactics, extortion, and high-orbital operations. Torch pilots are aggressive, unsophisticated, and ambitious, and the group rewards those who take risks to complete difficult missions or wipe out high-value targets.
Burning Torch is known for being one of the few pirate groups that will violate planetary boundaries in order to attack orbital facilities and ships passing through the atmosphere. To facilitate this, Torch operatives will destroy key satellites or drop their own jamming satellites to interfere with the authorities’ defense systems.
Burning Torch ships are usually lightly armored and armed with a combination of missiles and laser weaponry, while the group’s fleet doctrine emphasizes pack tactics, maneuverability, and wing commanders’ individual initiative.
