Kentaro Upcycling
Kentaro Upcycling is a salvaging and recycling corporation based in the Falconsky Heliosphere. Originally founded as a loose coalition of salvagers looking to reclaim expensive components and materials from wrecked warships, Kentaro formally incorporated in 860, after a significant windfall from the Conglomeration Wars allowed the corporation’s founder, Miura Kentaro, to realize his dream of expanding operations beyond Falconsky.
Since its founding, Kentaro has retained its roots as a battlefield salvage operation, but has expanded its operations to include acquiring and reselling surplus weapons and ships on the secondary market. This has transformed Kentaro into a significant player in the arms-dealing business.
According to public earnings reports, Kentaro generates 44% of its revenue from selling surplus equipment, although outside commentators like MarketView’s Tinara Kei have uncovered evidence that Kentaro’s yearly reports do not reflect the vast amounts of inventory sold on the black market to criminal organizations, terrorist groups, and other groups that appear on the Unitas Hostile Activities Groups database. In fact, according to Tinara Kei, Kentaro’s most recent expansion has been into corporate espionage, in which it attempts to steal or reverse-engineer proprietary weapons systems and sell plans for knock-off versions.
