High Elves
High Elves are a sub-species of elf typically found within the domain of the Kingdom of Sildra-Tor. They are distinct from other sub-species of elf due to their tall stature. They hail originally from the continent of Zalas although most of the species migrated to the islands of Sildra and Tor sometime in the distant past after a falling out with their brethren the Sea Elves. They are typically seen as above average intelligence as compared to most species and are seen to have a natural affinity to magic. They are also known more generally to be wary of outsiders and strangers most of the time.

The species most commonly lives within the borders of the Kingdom of Sildra-Tor on the islands of Sildra and Tor. Although the species can be found in other areas such as the island of Tilas and within the domains of the Listuroni Sultanate and Free Cities.

History
High Elves are a version of Elf believed to have been created by the goddess Alari after her and her husband Tarsen created the rest of the gods. They are believed to have originated somewhere on the continent of Zalas most commonly thought to be somewhere in the control of the Listuroni Sultanate. At some point in their history they sailed to the island of Sildra in the northwest of the world in what most scholars agree to be a great migration. They set about exploring the island and setting up their own settlements and governments there throughout the following years. After some time Humans came to the island and initially the two groups were hostile to each other thus leading to the Humans leaving for the island of Tor west of Sildra. Eventually these two groups along with a third species the Mountain Dwarves came to form a prosperity sphere together and the three species have cooperated with one another since. The current royal line of the Kingdom of Sildra-Tor is made up of high elves and the species makes up a large portion of the noble houses of the kingdom and as such the species has come to dominate politics within the kingdom.
