Mountain Dwarves
Mountain Dwarves are a sub-species of Dwarf that reside almost entirely with the northern and southern branches of the Grey Mountains. They are distinct from their cousins the Hill Dwarves due to their taller stature and bulkier build. They are typically seen as having average intelligence. The species is known generally to be vary cautious of outsiders due to their isolationist tendencies within the small clans of the mountains and for their seeming knack for construction.

History
The species is thought to have been created by the goddess Iasis like their cousins the Hill Dwarves. They are thought to originate within the Northern Grey Mountains although exactly where is unclear and over time the species has spread to the Southern Grey Mountains as well. The species for largely all of its history has kept to the mountains of their birth and has stayed within the small clans that inhabit the region. They have not ever been a major part of any of the nations of the continent around them as far as historians can tell and have largely stayed as secondary players when it comes to influence on the continent. In recent times this historical trend has continued with the species keeping to themselves in their small mountain clans and leaving the business of the rest of the continent to others.
