Dark Elves
The Dark Elves are a sub-species of Elf that can be found almost entirely within the Undying Desert under the domain of the Abasid Caliphate. The species can also be found within the domains of some of the neighboring nations. They are distinct from their other elven counterparts due to their dark skin and their more muscular nature. The species is typically thought to have an above average intelligence as with most sub-species of elf and are known for their adeptness in surviving underground due to their location within the desert. The species is known generally to be almost somber in nature and to seem to prefer to stay silent most of the time in the presence of outsiders.

The species is almost exclusively found within the borders of the Abasid Caliphate within the Undying Desert. Although some of the species can be found in other areas near to the desert such as the domains of the Free Cities and The Dread Lords.

History
Dark Elves are a sub-species of Elf that is thought to have been created by the goddess Alari after she created the High Elves. They are thought to have been the last of the elves to have been made. They are believed by most scholars to have originated somewhere in the Undying Desert on the continent of Zalas although exactly where is up for debate. The species is thought to have had early conflicts with the Yuan-Ti, Leonin, and Deep Gnomes that also live within the desert. After some time the Yuan-Ti came out of these conflicts on top of the hierarchy of the four species and the species have coexisted under the Abasid Caliphate since then.
