Humanity
Humans are the most prominent race of sapient beings in Vildrel. They make up a majority in every polity except for Edruva and The Enclave of the Free Peoples.
This trend continued where by the turn of the nineteenth century, it was not too uncommon to see humans a hundred and twenty years of age. By the turn of the twentieth century, the upper range of human lifespans had reached one hundred and fifty. Today, the oldest humans alive were born over two centuries ago. Seemingly, every fifty years, the rate of physical decay on the human body would decrease to where humans lived an average of nine to eleven years older. The body of a hundred-year-old human born in 2067 would look today like the body of a fifty-year-old human born five hundred years ago.
Changing Lifespan
Humans currently live to be upwards of two hundred years old. This wasn't always the case. For the majority of human history, the average healthy human wouldn't live any longer than eighty to a hundred years at the upper extreme. Most humans were lucky to live past sixty for a majority of their history.
