Keth

The Barony of Keth (Colloquially, Keth,) is a polity situated about the southwestern shores of Vildrel, nestled just south of the Forgelands and west of the furthest extents of the Lowland Collar. Characterized by tumultuous, craggy peaks and wind-eroded canyons with sparse, salt-crusted forts from lands innominate, Keth has long been a crucible for strife of all sorts since its inchoate years under tribal rule. Much umbrage has been spilled on account of its laws, or lack thereof, with only the flimsiest of codified law enforced.

People and Culture

More still has been spoken of its inhabitants--a brusque peoples, with little artifice and calling for acts scholarly or cultural. Whispers surreptitious surmise the place profaned--fortresses along its borders vanishing tacit into the night, Corewhisps stalking through the detritus of its outer settlements. History

An upstart of only four hundred years, Keth rose timorously onto Vildrel's milieu from the byzantine confines of its stone-hewn capital, Coldharbor, emerging from the ardours of centuries of interstitial tribal warfare to adopt some vestigial trappings of contemporary social ordnance and attain some modicum of recognition. Recognition, mind, that was undue--no sooner had the tribes consolidated under their liege Logan Keth than was war ken anew to its lands.

The War of Restitution

In Sol of 1897, Baron Logan Keth lead an assassination of Estaria Prince Duke Henry of Solgrad in Fort Cent, a territory that was, at the time, part of the Estarian Empire, but now among Keth's northern most holdings. This began what is known by the people of Keth as "the War of Restitution," a bloody, hundred-and-fifty-years long conflict where Keth expanded into the southern holdings of Estaria's empire and annexed land from Estaria, Sadrove and T'Ched.
