Machy

A machy is the end result of a cosmic conflict among the gods. They leave permanent scars on the ecology and environs of the One World, in such a way that new creatures are spawned and unnatural alterations are forced on the land.

Manifestation

Fire from the Sky

Tezcatlipoca was the first god to be incarnated as the sun; and was the longest lasting as the Yellow Sun. And in his honor, the first men were shaped from the smoke from fire.
His reign came to an end by a jealous Tlaloc who sicced jaguars to dethrone him. And when the sun died, his fire fell from the sky and scoured everything.

The Torrent Floods

Much like all times before and since, the Gods have made and remade men as often as they have made and remade the sun. With the dying of the Yellow Sun; Chalchiuhtlicue, the Jade Lady, was raised to the White Sun to take Tezcatlipoca's place.
And in her honor, the new men were shaped from seaside jade and they flourished. But as before; when a sun dies, calamity strikes the earth be it fire, wind or quakes. For the end of the White Sun Era; was decided by powerful tides.

The finned Kin came to be after people across the world tumbled about in the rushing waters that fused their legs together and flattened their hands into fins.

The serpentine Kin came to be after a rushing flood so volatile, turned the jade men into snakes who continue on sliding on their bellies.

And in his honor, the new men were shaped from clouds and they flourished. But as before; when a sun dies, calamity strikes the earth be it fire, wind or quakes. For the end of the White Sun Era; was decided by violent gales.

The horned Kin came to be after a storm so violent that it split the heads of men in two parts and winds blowing so hard, it pulled the hairs from their bodies to give them fur.

The winged Kin came to be after a group of cloud people were blown and shredded in the Wind God's fury to such an extent that they were torn into three forms of Winkin: the parts of their formerly human-selves divided in threes among the genders.

And in his honor, the new men were shaped from corn and they flourished. But as before; when a sun dies, calamity strikes the earth be it fire, wind or quakes. For the end of the Red Sun Era; there was a tremendous crack across the sky which then mirrored the land.

Kin

Kin, are so called because they are the living remnants of earlier humans crafted by earlier Sun gods and goddesses.
By means of some elemental catastrophe, sometimes as a result of machy, those humans who did not die outright had their bodies contorted into different shapes which have since formed into the many animals we know today.
Kin, specifically, did not bear the brunt of the disaster but still did change in accordance with their time and bare distinctly human features.
