Algermon
This former kingdom is now the Unified State of Algermon located west, and shares borders with Northoak to the north, Oryanthi and Unity to the east, and Dune to the south.
Geography
Algermon is the largest State in the kingdom of Ombre , covering multitudes of geographical features. The State shares shoreline with both the Waymeer Ocean and the Vusalio Ocean.
In the west, the Boxer Islands are low elevation forested hills that flow to the sand dune shores across grassy plains. The Boxer Sea separates the islands from the mainland.
The mainland consists of hills, forests, a swamp, lakes, and rivers. The western shore consists of sandy and rocky beaches, and soaring cliffs. Mereysa Bay sits on the mouth of the Majier River. Stonewatch Bay terminates the southern shoreline. The shoreline also hosts several small coves.
The land south of the Majier River is moderately treed with little variance in elevation, creating land perfect for agriculture; the trees creating humus soil and a water table that isn't far below the surface. The southern border low elevation mountains are shared with Dune, the state to the south of Algermon.
The land north of the Majier River is lightly forested up to a range of low elevation mountains that travel East to West. Continuing North, these foothills give way to many miles of dense forestation, the Algermon Forest. The Algermon forest is again buffered on the north side by moderate forest land shared with the border of the state of Northoak.
Lake Majier is a large fresh water body that is fed by small rivers, streams, and sub-aqueous geothermal springs; the lake is the source of the Majier River, flowing to the west. Due to the mixing of the river water flowing in to the lake and heated springs, the lake is known to be comfortable for swimming year round. The temperature also produces a heavy fog during the winter months. The lake, to the west, is bordered by low to medium elevation mountains and foothills, the Santer Pilos Range, creating a rain shadow to the east.
Continuing east from the Santer Pilos Range, the land evens out to light to moderate forests and plains, with a couple of singular foothills. These forests and plains continue to the border of the state of Unity to the southeast, and to the foothills and high elevation range of the Great Spine Mountains. The northeastern border of the state is completed by the peaks of the Great Spine Mountains; the east side of the mountains are territory of the state of Oryanthi. North of the Santer Pilos Range is the Fellemoor wetlands, covering many miles of the country side. This area sits below the water table, and though fed by many creeks, streams, and springs, is dotted with stagnant swamps and bogs.
