The Bluevein (Bloo-Vain)
The Bluevein River is a mighty river that stretches all the way from The Land of Ice and Shadow in the north to the Bay of Gulls in the south; along the way it is fed by dozens of tributaries all throughout the valley. Nestled between the eastern and western Miradell Mountains, it's rushing waters bring great vitality to the surrounding lands, and it is the lifeblood of the Valley Kingdoms. It is large enough to allow for ships to travel upon, thus making it a major avenue of trade between the settlements of The Wild Coast and the city of Northport, which lies at the mouth of the river. It's water and many lakes are home to an abundance of life, yet it is not only fish you will find within, but dangerous River Serpents, fickle water spirits, and even stranger creatures that give rise to myths and legends among those who live along the river's banks. Among the Erktuus tribes that live nearby, it is said the river is protected by a great guardian spirit, the Blue Turtle Woman, who defends the river from those who would defile it.
