Ekatkat (Ehh-Kat-Kat)
Ekatkat is one of the few places that could be considered a town among the normally nomadic Erktuus. It is home to the Five Clan Confederation, born of a need for mutual protection from both rival Erktuus tribes such as the Stoneskin Lion Clan, as well as human encroachment. Though not a large settlement by human standards, it is nonetheless unique among the Erktuus in both size and permanency. Erktuus trappers and hunters make their way south down the Bluevein to trade furs and other novelties in human towns for metal goods, tools and weapons. The village has upon rare occasions been visited by human traders from the Great Dale, and is one of the few places where the two races interact peacefully. The current Chief is Druok of the Towering Elk Clan, an old greybeard who will soon be succeeded by one of his many sons.
