The Bleak Weald
Located on the eastern shores of the Wild Coast, the region known as the Bleak Weald has certainly earned its name. Known for its windswept crags, dark forests and seemingly endless plains, it has remained relatively untouched by the recent settlement of the other parts of The Wild Coast. Beyond the unforgiving terrain, it is notorious as a home of terrible beasts and vicious monsters, the only other inhabitants being scattered tribes of savage Erktuus and the occasional reclusive group of Daku being forced north by the encroachment of humans to the south. The region is also known for a relative abundance of ruins, as this was once the heart of the Aluthai's homeland, but since the events of the Devastation two thousand years ago, it has since been reclaimed by nature. Adventurers and explorers come here in search of treasure, often finding much more than they bargained for in the process, whether it be at the hands of territorial Erktuus tribes or from the vicious monsters that stalk the land. It is not a place for the weak or unwary.
