Dimha

Dimha is a kingdom on the east coast of Baleria and is made up from 5 city-states that joined together to form a single nation under a symbolic monarch. The cities are known as Jerebelus , Faliva , Quirm , Yeban and Greenford. Quirm is the largest by a fair margin and the trade hub of the kingdom thanks to its deep harbor and access to the Kingsriver. Jerebelus is smaller and inland up the river from Quirm and holds the best farmlands, but has the smallest population and holds a poor defensive position. Yebjan is located on myriad inland ilands, in a great river surrounded by marshland, and have access to great fish resources without risking the sea. Due to its shallow harbors, it cannot port larger vessels. Faliva is the smallest and is nestled in a valley with a small port and sustain good pastures. Greenford is not the smallest of the grand cities but is located at the southern end of the nation, with its ruler holding the title of Va Seri, the sole holder of the title. It is a rank below the Sarif’s, due to the late entry to the kingdom, but Lady Celeste is often referred to as the Sarif of the south.

Structure

The kingdom is organized around a symbolic monarch, with the real power held by the high nobility, most notably the Sarifs. Being a nation centered around city-states under a token kingdom for mutual protection. The kingdom came to be as insurance against civil war, rather than the emergence of a unified nation. Founded less than two hundred years ago, the monarchy is slowly gaining more power but holds no real political power over the nobility, outside of enforcing the charter of statesmen, the legal document pertaining to the rights and duties of the nobility. The monarch has only a single military unit under its rule, the Kingsknights. Their role however is in policing the nobility, and acting as judges in disputes between the nobility. That said, their real authority ends in the face of the high nobility.
The commoners are, as a whole, subject to local authority held by the presiding high noble.
