Sarif Amerus Blatryn (a.k.a. The sloth)
Amerus is an opulent lord that has been coined as more interested in the taxation of his subjects than the growth Jerebelus and the surrounding lands, thinking of it more as a positive surprise. If he thinks about his commoner subjects at all.
The lord of Jerebelus has a rather nasty reputation, even in a lineage of terrible lords. This culminated in the year 489 with the legalisation of slavery, and subsequent forays into the Halfling hills. A large number of slaves were claimed during the first month of the conflict, wich Amerus hoped to quickly cash in on, but as it turned out, buyers were not in a rush, and during mid-Leikan all the slaves present in Jerebelus escaped. At the same time, all the halflings and gnomes of Jerebelus either fled or went into hiding. Earlier in the year, 31 Selanin to be precise, a large swath of the Jerebelus slums burned down. Rather than offer aid, Amerus reveled in the newly cleared land within his city and ordered the construction of slave pens.
As far as political enevours are conserned, Amerus have burned quite a number of bridges. The legalisation of slavery made him an object of hate from many of his vassals, and his annulment of the betrothal of his daughter Letima Blatryn to a prominent Tal Seri, naming her heir and then betrothing her to the second prince, High Sarif Ornald has been viewed with disbelief at best. At worst rumors have begun to brew of revolt amongst the vassals.

Morality & Philosophy
Of special note regarding Amerus, and a highlight of his morality is the open pandering to the temple of Barhuon - The tyrant god of dominion and wealth. Rather than the customary practice of executing criminals worthy of such punishment, Amerus have done away with the chopping block and instead sends these individuals to the dark temple to be offered up as sacrifices at the altar.
The results can only be said to be in line with his philosophical outlook. He has supposedly amassed obscene amounts of wealth in the last decade, and reported crime within his domain has plummeted. The fact that corruption and crime are at an all-time high just goes to show what blatant disregard of the commoners he possesses.
