Worlduary 2023

Welp, December 2022 did not go as planned. But there's no need to let the planning go to waste!
So instead of a WorldEmber 2022, I'll be having myself a Worlduary 2023!

The Project

I want to flesh out the plot for my practice video game "Nonfi Nis - The Empty Night". The sooner I know what will happen in the story, the sooner I can start making this game real.

Scope

I will focus on the Shelter of the Op Family and its state at the beginning of the story. If necessary, I will add details to the characters' biographies as well.

Themes

Chaos

To nudge my protagonists towards contacting the enemy family, I will need to make the situation in their shelter uncomfortable.
So I will need...

• equipment that can break down,
• supplies that can run out,
• and maybe some things that go bump in the night, just to freak them out.

Conflict

I can't have the family members work together right away. That would make for a rather boring story.
Therefore, I'll need...

• traditions, beliefs and fears on which they disagree,
• insults that they can hurl at each other,
• and things that knock their emotions off balance and thereby cloud their judgment.

Coping

I also want to look into things that could resolve these issues or at least help them work towards a solution.
Things such as...

• shared memories to reconnect over,
• objects and habits that they cling to for comfort,
• and practical tools that they can use to tackle their problems.
