It seemed almost ridiculous to restrain them. Ever since they had been stripped of that mechanical armor, they were barely able to move without their bones snapping like twigs. To say nothing of their feeble musculature - even their hearts were too weak to pump the blood all the way into their elongated limbs, unless they were lying flat on their backs. The scientists examining them had no explanation for how such a species could have evolved in the first place. Maybe they had degenerated after becoming too reliant on their technology? Said armor had clearly served the purpose of keeping them mobile - but it was not giving them any advantage in a fight. They never stood a chance against the soldiers - even a group of untrained civilians could have captured them with ease.   Still, the guards assigned to them remained alert, never taking their eyes off those tables. Better safe than sorry, right? Who knows what tricks those anorexic lizards might have up their sleeves...
