The Grove

The Grove is the location special to the Wardens of the Leaf and Sand  It is fully titled: The High Grove of Deep Contemplation, Restful Renewal, Renewed Dedication, Personal Transformation and Serious Service. While originally only one grove, there are three operating groves within the Emerald Ribbon.

Uses and Rituals

The groves are used as a general social meeting place and gathering place in addition to their other features. It is often used as a site for weddings, blessings on children and babies as well as a place for reflection and supplication for healing from disease. Some miracles have occurred at the groves and many hope to receive those same miracles as well.   All wardens are inducted at one of these groves as well as the rituals to raise the Oblooks .   Common Features include a ring of trees, a central fire pit and rough stone benches. Other than those pieces the three differ quite significantly.

The Grove in Orala-Was

This grove is on the fourth layer (lower most outer layer) and has a stone wall with flying buttresses encircling outside the ring of trees. The trees themselves are strong Ironwood trees. The rough stone benches are simple but come from 8 different types of stone found in New Minam , some quite rare. The north side of the wall connects to a building with offices, the east side having a warehouse connected, the west side being against the wall surrounding the layer, and the south a flight of stairs down to a plaza with an obelisk where by the Oasis Courser  can arrive.

The Grove at Himil Cache

This grove is located near a small village and its cache. The cache itself is a stepped pyramid like structure with spring welling up inside. It is the largest in size with two rings of Acacia trees that have branches intentionally woven in complex patterns.

The Grove at the High Hill

This is the most plain and primitive grove, a steep hike from the local cache which houses one family. A series of broken obelisks prevent it from being accessible by the Oasis Courser. Juniper trees form the ring and low stones the benches. These junipers have thorns have overlapping branches that form a thorny wall except for two entrances. This cache has a natural cave with a well used to water plants.
