Orala-Was Settlement in The Cradle of Worlds | World Anvil

Orala-Was

Also known by a host of other names; the jewel of the desert, the city of layers, the city of falls, the city of Jin, and the land of mages and bards. The city exists on three enormous stone pillars will multiple tiers and layers, a magical fountain brings water to the top layer which cascades down multiple waterfalls through the city. The bottom three layers are underground, containing many of the archives, mines, catacombs, and warehouses of the city. The fourth layer is at the base of the pillars and the general entrance to the city. The three pillars contain two layers each, a top layer and an interior one. The pillars themselves are flutted, wider at top than on bottom. The shortest pillar, named the gardens, has no bridges to the other two pillars. The medium (named the mages crown) and tall pillar (named the Jin’s hand) have a cause way from the pillar shaft to the top of the mages crown.   Each layer has multiple districts, and each district is led by one known as a Fable. While the Fable is the leader, most visible governance is in the bureaucrats and local militia under the command of the Fable. Fables are nominated by public display, who chooses the Fable is unknown. Some say it is the gods, others demons and still other say it is the Mighty Quival Ton Kortas who is the current ruler of the city.
