Surface

by Revyera

by Revyera
Coming from above The Pit, the creatures of the Surface have many unique traits not seen beneath the ground. They are the only ones capable of surviving the deadly sun's rays. They can leave The Pit without crumbling into dust. The ones gifted with the ability to fly can still do so inside the main shaft of The Pit.
Most of the Surface beasts resemble giant insects, highly aggressive towards any of the inhabitants of The Pit.
Tree

by Revyera

by Revyera
The creatures of The Tree layers are as varied as the layers they inhabit. Some learned to live within the glow of The Tree, while others shun away from it. For most of the inhabitants of The Pit, those are the most "standard" beings, either by being commonly encountered or commonly heard about.
Depths

by Revyera

by Revyera
Living deep below the hated glow of The Tree, creatures of the Depths were able to grow to truly monstrous sizes. Their domain is one of the pure darkness and sounds of crawling, hunting, and quick yelps of death. Most of them have developed other senses than sight to hunt.
Layer of Factories

by Revyera

by Revyera
While beings living on other Tree layers are organic or spiritual, most of the inhabitants of
the Layer of Factories are beings of metal, wires, and cogs. Each one has its role and purpose to fulfill, and should any of them be broken, many automated factories here will replace what is missing. The distinction between the homunculi and the machines of the layer of factories is that no current inhabitants of The Pit took part in creating the automatons that reside on said layer.
Homunculi

by Revyera

by Revyera
The artificial beings created by the current inhabitants of The Pit, the
homunculi vary a lot in their forms. Some can be either simple constructs or very complex machines, while others mimic other living beings, both real or imaginary. The most intricate ones are almost indistinguishable from humans when one doesn't know where to look.
Due to their designated "job", these little robots are pretty "
NOCTURNAL".
Domesticated creatures

by Revyera

by Revyera
These are all the creatures the people of The Pit have managed to tame or domesticate, either for their produce, their help, their abilities, or for their companionship. They can show up in various places and, in some cases, the contact with humans left them changed enough that they can be considered a new breed or subspecies.
Jungle

Jungle Anomaly by Revyera
The
Jungle is an anomaly that takes the form of an overgrown area hostile to any fauna. While some animals manage to adapt to their conditions and survive there, the species described in this section are mostly plants that are either mobile or openly hostile to other living beings.
Junkyard

Junkyard Anomaly by Revyera
Junkyard is a maze made out of all the things people have lost. When venturing into it, one has to watch out to not lose oneself. But there is another danger there. The creatures that stay too close to this anomaly for too long might soon discover that they aren't able to leave it anymore. Additionally, parts of their bodies start to be replaced by scrap and junk. Because of that, some of them become more dangerous while others fall into a panicked frenzy, not understanding what is happening to them.
Creatures that somehow can "
BURROW" into the walls and ground of The Junkyard.
Red Sea

Red Sea Anomaly by Revyera
While the
Red Sea can be considered a giant intelligent organism on its own, it uses its "flesh" to form many different creations, each with its distinct role. Any physical contact with this anomaly is deadly but sometimes it comes up with other ways to kill or extract information from others.
A "
MESSENGER" of the Red Sea, trying to gather the secrets of others.
I like all the different classifications reflected in the bestiary. The Red Sea is slightly alarming.
