Book of layers

Book of layers is a collaborative work describing various layers of The Pit. Over 100 explorers over the last 10 years worked on creating this book. In the beginning, the book was created by 3 friends, but as more and more people were interested in their work, more and more authors decided to join in, both independent explorers, and members of various guilds.

Purpose

The book has been created to collect all the possible knowledge about the layers of The Pit - the dangers and resources they contain, their fauna and flora, the buildings, and points of interest one can find when visiting them.

Structure

The book has been divided into chapters, each describing another layer, beginning from the highest layer of The Surface and going down. The notes of every author are kept together to make it easier to see where one report ends and another begins.

Differences between printed and digital version

While both versions contain the writing of various authors, their drawings, and photographs, the digital version additionally contains the videos, audio logs, and sounds recorded on various layers. Additionally, one can access the commentary mode of it, where other explorers put their thoughts and remarks related to what their colleagues wrote.

The first editions of the book, both printed and digital were first created 10 years ago, in the 5th year of Awakening.
Current number of editions:
15, the book gets updated whenever a big new discovery is added to it.
