Earth

"Mother Earth is the cradle of our civilization. We've abandoned her nearly twice, once by choice when the megahabs took to the stars and again when Cozine-07 nearly drove us off, but we persevered. Now, we have inhabited all the globe again, and it's become obvious; we will never leave her again."   ~Abednego Cansaman, Technocrat of Earth

Mother Earth

Mother Earth, ravaged by ancient wars and environmental disasters, has transformed into a vastly different planet from the one that tasted Sumerian sandals. The loss of ice caps has reshaped coastlines, swallowing low-lying areas and islands. Rising sea levels have given birth to sprawling megahabs, self-sustaining cities that serve as nation-states. Despite the devastation, Earth's resilience shines through. Lush, adapted flora has reclaimed the altered landscapes, and genetically engineered species thrive in the harsh environments. The planet's scarred beauty remains a testament to humanity's perseverance and innovative spirit.

World Ocean

The World Ocean, now encompassing nearly 80% of Earth's surface, plays a vital role in supporting life. Megahabs harness oceanic energy and resources, while advanced biotechnology maintains delicate marine ecosystems. Genetic engineering has revived extinct species and created new, adaptable organisms to preserve the ocean's health. However, remnants of biological warfare still linger, producing mutated sea and land creatures that pose threats to human settlements.

Megahabs and Savage Wilds

Earth's landscape is divided between sprawling megahabs and treacherous Savage Wilds. These gargantuan cities, like New Chicago, New Eden, Pacifica, or Neo-Atlantis, are marvels of engineering, housing tens or hundreds of millions within self-sustaining ecosystems. Outside, the Savage Wilds stretch across the ruins of old nations, where mutated flora and fauna roam. Biological warfare's dark legacy has spawned monstrous creatures, making off-grid survival nearly impossible. The megahabs' safety and luxury contrast sharply with the unforgiving wilds, reinforcing Terrans' pride in their urban strongholds and their dominance over the planet's unpredictable dangers. The Terrans that do choose to livee among the monsters have a reputation for being particularly tough and skilled.
