Teetch Belt

"The Teetch Belt is Neptune's lifeblood. Most of us are born in our little fiefdoms. This vast, sprawling network of stations is more than just a collection of habitats – it's a vibrant, living entity, pulsing with the energy of our citizens. I've spent my fair share of time navigating the Briar Patch, and I can tell you, there's no place in the Sol System quite like it."   ~Sherak "Gimpy" Leviathan, Technocrat of Neptune

Cities in Space

The Teetch Belt is home to the majority of Neptune's population, a labyrinthine array of space stations spanning every conceivable size and configuration. From cozy, container-sized abodes to sprawling metropolises housing millions, each station boasts its own unique culture, hierarchy, and history. These cities in space have evolved over time, with families, clans, and social factions emerging to shape the intricate social tapestries of each station. Despite their diversity, the stations share a common thread – a fierce independence and determination to thrive in the harsh environment of the outer Sol System.

The Briar Patch

The Teetch Belt's nickname, the Briar Patch, reflects the formidable challenge of navigating this dense, heavily defended region. Stations bristle with laser turrets, shield grids, torpedo bays, and defender drones, while some even possess advanced cloaking technology or Fitch-Fennig Engines enabling them to slip into adjacent spaces. The ever-present threat of mines, missiles, and flak makes hostile passage through the Briar Patch a daunting prospect. This complex, dynamic environment has honed the Neptunians' reputation as masterful strategists, pilots, and skilled defenders, capable of adapting to the ever-changing landscape of their beloved Briar Patch.

Ghost Stations

Scattered throughout the Teetch Belt are the enigmatic Ghost Stations – abandoned, destroyed, or simply vanished habitats that linger, shrouded in mystery. Efforts to catalogue the stations have been thwarted by uncooperative populations, technological evasions, and the constant flux of new constructions and departures. Some Ghost Stations are rumored to be derelict, their systems faltering, while others are thought to be deliberately concealed, awaiting rediscovery or rebirth. These phantom habitats have become an integral part of Neptunian folklore, inspiring tales of lost treasures, forgotten technologies, and the promise of adventure waiting in the unknown depths of the Briar Patch.
