Luna
"The seat of human government is a strange anachronysm. It's not quite seventh generation rich kids playing dressup as Roman senators... but it's not quite not that either."
~Grand Star Admiral Emee San-Blanc.
Seat of Government
Luna, the terraformed moon of Earth, shines as the radiant center of human governance. The United Body, comprising representatives from every major interest, convenes within the majestic Palladium Dome. This iconic structure, crafted from the rare and valuable metal, embodies humanity's aspirations for unity and progress. Luna's gravity plates ensure a comfortable environment for dignitaries and functionaries, who navigate the intricacies of interplanetary politics. The Body's decisions shape the destiny of humanity, balancing the interests of planetary states, corporations, and the aristocracy.Seat of the Aristocracy
Luna's aristocratic families, descendants of Aurelius Frost's legendary commandos, inhabit a world of privilege and tradition. Their ancestral estates, crafted in gleaming palladium, evoke ancient Greco-Roman grandeur. These scions of noble lineage often struggle to find purpose, their lives marked by luxury and indulgence. Some pursue philanthropy or military service, while others succumb to decadence and intrigue. The aristocracy's influence wanes, yet their historical significance and symbolic importance remain. They host lavish gatherings, where politicians, corporate leaders, and high-society elites mingle, forging alliances and securing futures.Seat of the Oligarchy
Beneath Luna's polished facade, the oligarchy pulls the strings of power. Gigacorporation heads and founding families manipulate markets, shape policy, and orchestrate the Solar Council's agendas. Talented technocrats, indispensable to the functioning of human space, rub shoulders with the often-inept heirs of wealthy dynasties. This uneasy coexistence fuels tensions between meritocracy and inherited privilege. The oligarchs' pursuit of profit and influence drives human progress, but also perpetuates inequality and corruption. In Luna's exclusive salons and high-stakes boardrooms, the fate of humanity is shaped by those who wield economic and political might.Geography
Luna is terraformed, with an ozone layer overhead, an oxygen-rich atmosphere, and most of its craters filled with water.
Ecosystem
The seeding of Luna was done more as an experiment, the first time humanity wondered if it could. As such, the plants present are more beautiful and hardy than useful. Flowering plants and grasses cover the dry land and algae blooms along the shores. Bees tend the flowers, and a shallow food web of freshwater fish ply the lakes.
Climate
The climate is kept carefully temperate on Luna, and most days are sunny and pleasant. When it rains, the rain falls gently in a light drizzle, just enough to maintain the lawns.
