That's captain Nylah, thank you very much. And even though her father is the second in line to the duchy, behind her grandfather, she served two years in the Dono's Cavalry, rising to the rank of Lieutenant, before returning home to become a captain in Wargun's Watchers. And while her family name certainly focused some eyes on her, it was her talent in the saddle, with lance, saber, and especially the bow that turned heads. Even beyond her skills as a horsewoman, she has a natural air of command about her - soldiers following her commands as instinctually as she gives them.
None of this really endears herself to her to her sister who ridicules Nylah's insistence of attending court functions in riding breeches and a dress uniform instead of an evening gown. "You'll never find a husband that way," Nyx will say, exasperated. "And the duke is sure to just pick one for you that way." Whether or not Nyx's sentiment is true is certainly an unknown. Its clear that their father would prefer that she inherit his position instead of her dandy of a brother, the old duke has remained mute on the subject.

Nylah may be a princess but she shoots, rides, and swears like the soldier she is. A commissioned captain in the Wargun's Watchers and the former lieutenant in the Zennonaize Cavalry, she is her father's pride and joy.
