Nyx Darin
Princess of Wargun
Eldest daughter of Fendrick Darin, the heir to the duchy of Wargun, Nyx possesses all of her mothers grace and charm, even if she lacks the sly wit for which her mother was famous. While she was but five winters old when her mother passed she, like her father, blames her brother for her death. Unlike her father, however, she does little to repress her feelings and takes every opportunity to remind the foppish young man of his many failings. She holds her sister in equal contempt, considering the lady brash, foolish, and unladylike; insults to which Nylah routinely responds with a simple "Thank you." For her father she has mixed feelings - swinging from anger at his extended deployments away from home (especially after the death of Nyx's mother) to adoration. In all states, however, she has mastered the manipulation of the poor man who, like many fathers, has spoiled his daughter, more so know that she has grown into the spitting image of her mother.
With her fiery red hair and bright green eyes, Nyx cuts a bold figure in the Old Dono's Palace and at balls around the city. Sadly, she will tell you, there are no eligible bachelors in the city and she is forever pestering her father to take on a tour of the Confederacy so that she can shop for a husband. These feelings notwithstanding, Nyx has made flirting with the young men of the city's wealthiest families into a career rivaled only by her dalliances with young officers in the Zennonaize Cavalry. The result has been an avalanche of gifts since her coming out four winters past and more than one young officer finding himself transferred patrol duty in the western Steppes or Fort Tarick.

Nyx is everything one might expect from a young princess - beautiful, self assured, and commanding. She knows her destiny is to marry a wealthy noble and secure an alliance for her family and is determined to make the match one she can live with.
