Epiphany 13: Apotheosis
General Summary
Apotheosis is the highest, best form or example of something. It comes from the ancient Greek notion that a particular individual is so amazing, they deserve to be elevated to "deity" status.
The armor-clad villain who commands these flying barges is determined that all of Roman Earth will fuel his elevation. He designs great innovations in technology, and puts them to work. He also acquires the creations of other minds -- thus to analyze them, improve them, and add these inventions to his own toolset.
Somehow, he has determined that a scientific achievement exists just west of Mooniyang.
He must have it.
Now.
Today.
The only way that the Roman Consulate might survive this assault is that a strange visitor from another reality stands hidden within the narrow consulate valley.
Can the Trenchcoat Brigade turn this unplanned complication into a Plot Twist Toward Victory?

Facts Found
Not a comprehensive list! Check your own clue files, because you certainly know more! Motes of light dance through a space, ignoring all attempts of matter to interact with them.
Sometimes sound fragments accompany them: music, or transmitted voices.
The sounds cease to be heard sometime shortly before the stardust trail starts to include "below ground" portions of its cycle.
The locals in this part of Brooklyn's Columbia Street Waterfront District have grown inured to the motes. They may not like it, but they no longer let it startle them into a reaction.
The stardust trail grows thicker, appearing more frequently and in more intense clusters, and moves faster as it enters the city block framed by Sackett Street, Columbia Street, Degraw Street, and Van Brunt Street.
The stardust trail's destination is not in the private bus parking lane that bisects the block.
A green cinderblock "gardener's shed", nestled under the thick cover of the trees, may be the destination.
Gadgets emplaced throughout the Waterfront District interact somehow with the stardust trail.
The "gardener's shed" is so very much more than its outside suggests.
The Man In Red, in possession of many private documents to which he ought never have gained access, destroys them in his efforts to create a collage project of his own.
Someone occasionally visits the interior space of the Foxfire Shed to do regular janitorial work.
One of those visitors is a metahuman.
If unidentified parties access the Foxfire Shed, Makeshift will receive an electronic notification. Meanwhile, the wider perimeter of the affected area includes some difficult-to-access hidden spaces!
Communal Intel Pool crafted! Filled with prior findings!
Epiphany Emission Point explored by group effort.
Five newcomers arrived in the Foxfire Project Room! They bring trays and platters with opaque covers!
Epiphany Filter Field discovered and documented.
Team removed this Emission Point Gadget from its locked position. They plan on investigating more fully at a controlled location.
Darkness flows into the block like ocean fog arriving from the wrong direction.
The five red-jumpsuited metahumans have been sent on this mission by their supervisor to "get acquainted with the Neighbors".
"Neighbors" appears to mean the Masked Mystery Mavens running around Brooklyn on this winter evening; and the people in the jumpsuit do think at least three individuals comprise the Neighbor team.
The elderly lady refers to herself as "Nobody". While observing from concealment, the Trenchcoat Brigade also heard these five use names for each other such as "Elegast" and "Luule".
A gigantic octopus appears to have invaded the area of Degraw St just east of the Columbia St intersection. With the Watchmen unavailable, tonight the Knights Vigilant respond to the city's rescue needs!
The Visiting Team's technology sure does use a lot of nanocrystals.
Each member of the Visiting Team has some sort of cybernetic device implanted near the top of the spine, just below the collarbone, on their backs.
At least one member of the Visiting Team, Luule Erato, carried only Canadian bills. She also put great value and concern on her possession of metal coins in her change.
The Visiting Team are here to lay the groundwork for a Good Neighbor relationship with the important locals.
By "locals", the Visiting Team seem to automatically mean active metahumans in the local population of what they keep calling "Quantum York".
The culture of the Visiting Team has an urgent need for certain pharmaceutical components, and for "unpolluted" iron.
The Visiting Team provided the Trenchcoat Brigade with a plastic key that will grant access to a drop point for exchanging messages, so that future meetings can be scheduled.
The Visiting Team plan some After-Hours Acquisitions at the local Home Depot, thanks to pointers given by the Trenchcoat Brigade.
Active use of metahuman powers has some influence on the flow of energy in the Foxfire Project Room.
We are now on the southern shores of what some might call the St. Lawrence River, with an excellent view northeastward to the island assuredly not called "Montreal".
The road is silvery.
The area outside the Project Room overlooks a watchpost for four modern Roman Centurion guards.
Makeshift knows about spinal implants in some Visiting Team members.
The Shadow has one of the crystals from the Project Room.
Sable Shadow has reason to hypothesize that Praetor Gaius Montkahnawake has an important appointment to this Consulate that comes with some goods transported at high expense, so the Consulate is politically important and has some power, but that also Gaius might be in some sort of Elevated Exile.
Everyone fell asleep before getting into details about how their original investigations led to what they see here in the Roma Consulate on the border of Mooniyang.
Senja Jikonsase is the lady often found in the Roma Consulate's kitchen. She will spend part of today figuring out how to reorganize a storage room to be an extra guestroom for the new arrivals. It is vitally important, in her Praetor's service, to not shame the hospitality of Hestia. She understands this. At the same time, she does not exactly thank her Praetor for dropping this project into the middle of her Baking Day.
Kitsune, having had an extremely lengthy "yesterday", was heavily asleep when the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade got ready to start the day. The team decided to leave him to sleep his fill. The way things are going, everyone will need their wits in peak performance by this evening!
Miss Tabitha and Makeshift have been properly introduced to Praetor Gaius Montkahnawake and Consulate guards as newly arrived comrades of Psypher and The Shadow. All these people have also made the official acquaintance of the Maximoff twins, Wanda and Pietro.
Pietro Maximoff has departed, as planned, to seek further information on some details that the Trenchcoat Brigade related over supper the night before.
Praetor Gaius succeeded, by a narrower definition of "success" than he wanted, in arranging for his newer guests to interview one of the prisoners in Mooniyang. The interview can last only one hour.
The Praetor's loyal assistant and translator, Merko Merkovich, spent much of the hovercar "chariot" ride into southern Mooniyang by giving the Trenchcoat Brigade guests a quick tutorial on local social requirements and customs. He emphasized the rights of prisoners in this nation, which include not being forced nor manipulated nor tricked into divulging information they did not willingly choose to offer. He taught a culturally significant phrase, complete with ritual gestures, that will increase a visitor's chances of not offending locals with ignorantly problematic behavior.
Two prisoners are in the large, well-appointed containment room. The woman refuses to engage with the visitors. The man agrees to come over and chat, if only as a diversion from ongoing boredom.
The prisoner calls himself Skyburner. He refers to Pietro Maximoff as an "insurgent from Wyldstorm."
When an enemy force approaches for a likely raid, the city of Mooniyaang raises defenses. They disconnect land bridges from mainland to island, from island to island. They lock down all spaces within buildings, creating additional barriers to invasion forces. Shipping crews lash open the hatches on their ship holds, showing their lack of contents and therefore lack of value as targets.
Psypher learned some things about how the people of Mooniyaang prepare for a raid by the flying raider. (He has not yet had a chance to share this information with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade.)
Makeshift got a bird's eye view of the attack in progress, currently in the vicinity of the Roman Consulate -- which is west and somewhat south of Mooniyang. He also was able to follow the clue arrow in the snow to spot Psypher, down on the western docks, assisting locals in the emergency. (Makeshift has only had a chance to share the details with Miss Tabitha, not yet with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade.)
Sable Shadow has been able to partially translate some signs and recorded messages which inform the viewer on what may be expected. (Miss Tabitha has only had a chance to share the details with Makeshift, not yet with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade.)
Agent Chameleon woke up in the safe spot inside the Roman Consulate where the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade had tucked him away. He has gathered a few clues from concealment, before his focus narrowed down to the impending enemy assault from three or four flying barges. (Kitsune has not yet had a chance to compare notes with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade.)
The Shadow knows why that one member of the Mooniyaang Municipal Guard has behaved as if the Trenchcoat Brigade are the most entertaining show to visit the Seaway all year. (He has not yet had a chance to compare notes with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade.)
