Otrok Imperium

The Mamoriok Don Otrok (lit: Imperium of Otrok ), commonly known as the Otrok Imperium, is an expansionist empire in the Galactic West, and a successor state of the Threshyk Empire. Founded roughly a century ago by the Emperor of Otrok Kind, the Imperium has transformed a lawless sector of warlords into a well oiled war machine dedicated to galactic stability.

Structure

The Imperium is militaristic feudalistic system. Space is divided among the Thirteen Legions, the later twelve all headed by a Legatus Legionis with the First Legion being headed by the Emperor Himself. The Imperium is structured from its base to its top much like a military, with the government controlling almost all aspects of society. That said, a number of megacorporations have been subsumed by the empire, allowed to operate provided they follow imperial laws and subject themselves to harsh scrutiny.   Otrok military forces consist almost entirely of their own species, with other species (primarily Anyum) sometimes filling in as auxiliary or occupational forces.

Public Agenda

The Imperium exists for the peace, stability and ascendancy of the Otrok species. To do that, it is dedicated to the elimination of all possible threats. Other species are allowed to join provided they abide by imperial laws and are fit into castes as their species best fits into the Otrok military industrial machine. Aliens are assets, but they are looked after just as an Otrok soldier meticulously cares for his weapon.   Despite the Otrok formerly being a spiritualist people, the Imperium stands for the destruction all temples, instead building schools and academies upon their rubble. The Imperium has no time for faith and believe, only hard facts and action.   It is the goal of the Imperium to eventually augment all Otrok, though currently they prioritize the augmentation of direct military forces.

History

The Imperium was forged from the ashes of the Threshyk Empire. When the Empire fell, it fractured into warlords and mega corporations that abused entire planets for their own gain. The Otrok at the time, a humble, semi-religious people who often found themselves in clerical or agricultural roles, were generally considered the bottom of the totem pole.   This all changed with the emergence of the Emperor of Otrok Kind. Emerging from a fortress on Adama, with an army of genetically augmented Otrok, the Emperor and his legions took the ancient ecumenopolis from its warlord, and began an expansionist campaign across the stars to secure the safety and stability of their species. While he acknolwedged the Emperor's forces were great, the local warlord believed his Yutiki allies would be able to protect him, instead the Yutiki found the Emperor and his vision curious and eagerly came to his side instead.   The Imperium grew from there. Planets that bowed to the Emperor were spared, while ones that resisted were put to the sword. Peace demanded there be no possibilities for enemies. While the Imperium is centered on the Otrok people, it is not opposed to finding a spot for other species to occupy if they are willing to comply. While the Yutiki have been eager to help, the Threshyk have been resistant to serving a former client species. Even then, it is only the volatile Vomok that the Imperium has had to entirely purge.   In 9961, the Imperium came into contact with the Evergrowth. The Imperium had not looked forward to fighting the Gro-Nak and their Kry-Tak warlords, as rumors had abounded to them having their own fearsome militant empire, but the universe had something worse in store. Surging from the south, the Evergrowth had been eating into the Gro-Nak and Kry-Tak for decades. It turned out the raids by the aliens had not been entirely out of malicious intent, but to help bolster their existence against the encroaching growths.   The Otrok would then enter into a 20-year war with the Evergrowth, before the virulent enemy eventually moved its intentions elsewhere. During this time, the Otrok would turn down the aid of the Briari Ecumene, determined to not be beholden to a foreign power. The Imperium was exhausted, during which splinter groups took advantage and succeeded. Since then, the Imperium has been re-arming and rebuilding itself.

Mythology & Lore

Though the Imperium is an atheistic organization at its core, the mysterious origins, wondrous abilities, and vast intellect of the Emperor have led some to describe Him with theistic terms.
