Aiuk-Clas Shield Frigate

The Aiuk-Class Shield Frigate is a light vessel in use by the Otrok Imperium. While the Otrok, and before them, the Threshyk Empire have long used frigates as screening vessels, the numerical superiority of the Evergrowth forced a change in tactics by the Otrok. Instead of merely screening attacks and counting enemy missiles, the frigates were designed to work in tandem with one another to form a sort of 'phalanx in space'. Multiple boxes of these could be formed to create durable formations, cycling through shields and positioning in order to weather the attacks overwhelming foes.   The vessel's dimensions are somewhat deceptive due to its large generators mounted on the front. The vessel's main body is actually smaller than Yshak RF-X Class Battle Barge.   New members of the Otrok military and navy are often stationed on an Aiuk as their first vessel.

Power Generation

The Aiuk's main power source is its N-Way Fusion reactor, which feeds into its Gen-II Hyperium fusion drive units. To compliment its shields, it also comes with a set of Phased Anti-Matter Batteries, that can work as a backup anti-matter reactor when need be, but are otherwise non-volatile.

Propulsion

While the Longiok-Class Onager is technically the first vessel to sport Gen-II Hyperium fusion drive units, the Aiuk was completed and deployed faster than the leviathan vessel. The Gen-II drives take advantage of improved field-thrust vectoring to create a more durable drive with a smoother distribution of thrust, plus the ability to control thrust vectoring to provide greater maneuverability. The drives are also notably safer and more durable.   For maneuvering the vessel also comes with the usual laser-induced fusion thrusters.

Weapons & Armament

  • 16x Carnex Et-Pattern Plasma Carronade: A weapon said to only be made possible by Yutiki engineers, the Carnex Et pattern is somehow both a chaotic, unstable weapon, and a reliable, variable tool. As if the embodiment of Yutiki engineering, the carronades make use of highly unstable plasma reactions, the resulting charge and frequency variations making t difficult to adapt to, especially when being bombarded by multiple turrets. The cannons themselves are also telescopic, allowing for precision medium-range fire, or spread to the extent that they cast anti-stealth screens, the latter of which perhaps ironically being used to sniff out the stealth ships of rebel Yutiki.
  • 12x Mogor-Pattern Munitions Launcher: An adaptable launch system designed to deliver missiles, bombs, and other guided ordinance around the large shield section. They can even be used to carry additional strikecraft.

Armor and defense

  • Assembled Adamantium Armor: Extracted from the Imperium's various Adamantium deposits, vessel features both thick armor but a durable hexagonal superstructure that gives the vessel high structural durability.
  • Particle Shields: A particle shield creates a barrier of charged particles. It is in essence a projected form of reactive armor, designed to melt projectiles before they come in contact with vehicle.
  • Ray Shields: Similar to a particle shield, a ray shield uses charged particles to provide defense. However, the structure of a Ray Shield is fundamentally different than a particle shield. Rather, a ray shield is of relatively little use against against kinetic attacks, and is instead designed to cause energy attacks to flow across its surface to diffuse their charge. It is commonly paired with a particle shield due to their complimentary natures.
  • Shield Projectors: In addition to the craft's normal set of particle and ray shields, the craft's front section is dedicated to an abnormally large set of both for its size. These projectors are designed to cast shields over a wide area, linking up with other similar vessels to create a shared screen which disperses enemy attacks across its surface, creating a barrier greater than its individual parts.
  • Electromagnetic Reactive Armor: As a vessel whose role is to beĀ  the front line, the Aiuk forgoes the usual anti-beam coating to instead be able to deliver high amounts of voltage through its armor. Using this, it can fry most attempts boarding, and even deal considerable damage to vessels ramming it.
