Yshak RF-X Class Battle Barge

The Yshak RF-X, otherwise known as the "Yshak Refit", is current iteration of the primary workhorse and signature starship of the Otrok Imperium. Despite this, the Yshak began its existence as a cargo hauler for the Threshyk Empire . Following the fall of the Threshyk , the easy to manufacture, yet robust and modular design, made the Yshak popular among early Otrok defense forces.   After the emergence of the Emperor, the Yshak continued its service, undergoing a number of standardized refits. The current iteration features a number of improvements developed during the conflict with the Evergrowth. Such as adaptable interior environments, ejectable sections, and weapons designed to counter the Evergrowth's defenses.   The Yshak is notable for its "Cyclic Graviton Drive". Originally intended to help the vessel to and from a planet's surface, it has been adapted for both general vectoring and defense. The vessel itself is highly modular, particularly its bow and ventral sections. The underside is typically used as either missile bays, hangar bays, or storage of ground forces for landings. The bow similarly can be used to store ground forces or fighters (complete with gravitic catapults), though often boasts large rail guns or the new Neutron Lasers.

Power Generation

The Yshak's primary power source is its matter-anti-matter reactor. However, should power be insufficient, it can draw power from the Hyperium fusion drive units.

Propulsion

What counts as the primary engines of the Yshak is a subject of debate. The "Cyclic Graviton Drive" serves as both propulsion and maneuvering, while six Hyperium nuclear fusion drive units are dedicated for pure forward propelling force. A small set of laser-induced fusion thrusters serve as backup vectoring thrusters.

Weapons & Armament

The Yshak has a very flexible armament, but some weapons are standard:
  • 26x Carnex Et-Pattern Plasma Carronade: A weapon said to only be made possible by Yutiki engineers, the Carnex Et pattern is somehow both a chaotic, unstable weapon, and a reliable, variable tool. As if the embodiment of Yutiki engineering, the carronades make use of highly unstable plasma reactions, the resulting charge and frequency variations making it difficult to adapt to, especially when being bombarded by multiple turrets. The cannons themselves are also telescopic, allowing for precision medium-range fire, or spread to the extent that they cast anti-stealth screens, the latter of which perhaps ironically being used to sniff out the stealth ships of rebel Yutiki.
The Yshak also has a number of variable weapons:
  • 2x Aljordan-Pattern 12.8m Neutron Laser: The new 'swiss army knife' of the Otrok navy. With a stabilized neutronic coil arc reactor as its power source, a Neutron Laser is able to fire a beam so devastating that it not only is able to punch through the thickest of armour, but also sends a blast wave of electromagnetic energy that scrambles circuits and synapses alike when it strikes its target. The electromagnetic burst also makes it effective at crippling some forms of shields, similar to ion weapons, meaning even if the laser itself is ineffective, a second shot might suffer less, if any resistance.
  • 2x Jaet-Pattern Magnetic Accelerator Cannon: The traditional weapon of the Yshak class, these heavy railguns have been partially phased out due to ammunition costs and the versatility of the neutron laser. Still, most fleets include them for delivering anti-matter warheads.
  • 12x Gor-Pattern Variable Missile Launcher: Occupying the vessel's dorsal area, the Gor-Pattern launcher is typically armed with either concussion missiles for anti-fighter, or anti-matter missiles when fighting other warships.

Armor and defense

  • Assembled Adamantium Armor: Extracted from the Imperium's various Adamantium deposits, vessel features both thick armor but a durable hexagonal superstructure that gives the vessel high structural durability.
  • Graviton Shield: The primary shield system of the vessel. The Graviton shield is produced by the "Cyclic Graviton Drive". It functions similarity to a Kinetic Barrier, but with a toroidal shape. While the top and bottom are technically the most defended by the shield, the shield is also used for navigation.
  • Everguard Coating: Developed from studying the adaptive properties of the Evergrowth, Everguard is a form of anti-beam coating that is spread across most Otrok vessels and fortifications. This coating is able to adapt to provide better resistance against energy weapons that strike it.
  • Particle Shield: Should the Yshak be equipped with either the Aljordan or Jaet-Pattern weapons, the vessel will also come with particle shield emitters to protect the bow guns from kinetic fire.
  • Ray Shield: Should the Yshak be equipped with either the Aljordan or Jaet-Pattern weapons, the vessel will also come with ray shield emitters to protect the bow guns from energy weapons.
