Tu'Kor

A jungle world that has been under a constant occupation by the Colonial Earth Empire for the past 15 years. Planetside, the locals have resorted to a guerilla war against their invaders. The empire deems the resources on this planet too great to commit to heavily to destroying the planet with orbital bombardment. House of Steel has in turn deployed their own forces, to help enforce their mining and extraction contracts.     The Jungle itself is rich in hard metals used in making advanced materials like Plasteel, and exotic materialis such as Spice. Giant strip mining operations have rocked the local ecology, and locals claim that at this rate, Tu'Kor will be an unlivable husk thanks to corporate interests. Imperial Arbitrators assure locals that the damage is only temporary, and that terraforming efforts will resume once the insurrection has stopped. In response, guerilla fighters regularly sabotage mining equipment, killing off Imperial Army officers, or sabotaging Valois Trading Corporation assets trying to leave the system. This conflict has stretched out for decades, and has drastically slowed down the collection of Plasteel.   Spice is an important part of the local culture, and Tu'Kor is one of the largest producers of Spice throughout the galaxy. Many of the locals consume spice regularly, and use it in their religious practices.

Settlements

A majority of the Humans on Tu'Kor occupy towns and villages that wrap around the trunks of the massive Weirwood Trees. Larger cities crisscross between multiple trunks, suspended hundreds of meters above the jungle floor. Many here were born here before the silence, and have since taken very little interest in the happenings of the galaxy as a whole since. These villages have become increasingly hard to find, as the locals are attempting to stay away from the encroaching Imperial Influence. Many of the locals practice some form of either paganism, worshiping the river and jungle spirits. Or, they practice paganism mixed with Seerism, having been influenced by the missionaries that arrived many years ago in the search of Spice.   Imperial settlements are mostly situated on the ground, in massive strip mined quarries. These settlements are heavily fortified, and often bash against the natural world around them. They regularly are attacked by the superfauna that exists on the world. Most are simply just garrisons established by the Felucia Steel Regiment, as going out on your own has proven to have an extremely high mortality rate.   There is one semi-large city located on the southern hemisphere, that acts primarily as a shipping space port for all the materials located on the planet. It is regularly occupied by Imperial forces, and is the only place the emperor has deemed it neccessary to deploy shock troopers.

Ecosystem

Tu'Kor is almost entirely one massive jungle, with superfauna and plantlife that might represent Earth during the time of the dinosaurs. Massive trees can reach upwards of thousands of feet high, with roots the size of space stations plunging into the ground. Rivers, lakes, and smaller seas dot the surface of Tu'Kor, and rainfall is almost constant. Local animal life is extremely dangerous to human existence, with examples including the venomous Hellcat, or the large lizard like monstrosity known as the Thanator. Many of these animals are skilled climbers, living in the Understory.   Massive flying creatures live within the canopy of the jungles, regularly swooping down into the jungles for prey. Massive fungi grow on the floor of the jungles, with insects the size of a train car. All of this makes habitation extremely hostile. The rivers that wind through the planet can be miles wide in size, and are filled with massive alligator-like monsters that cruise the base of the river waiting for pray to come for a drink at the top.
