San Clemente

The Moon of San Clemente is a fortress out on the edge of traveled space. It sits at the edge of Terminus and some records date its founding to the early age of exploration. The planet regularly passes through the rings of Titus, which means that most of the population lives deep underground. A vast network of caverns and fortified cathedrals dot the planet, manned by the monastic Illuminated of the Covenant. There is a massive orbital shield that encompasses the moon, powered by tech that far predates the silence. While the Magi have tried, the technology is incredibly difficult to replicate.
Records pre-dating the silence show the planet was used primarily as a scanning station, used to chart the Uknown Regions and beyond. There are even some records of the planet holding out against threats that were not human in nature. Most scholars likely point towards early signs of the Mechanicus Jihad, but others believe that this planet was one of humanity's first encounters with alien intelligence.
Massive radar stations dot Titus, and are maintained by the Illuminated and the Tech-Magi, keeping a watchful eye on the wider galaxy.
