Galvaka
Galvaka is ruled by the Galvas family who won complete power around 1785, hundreds of years after the formation of the capital, Dür. This family won power through elimination and subjugation of the other families. Though many within Dür find their lives full of hardship, the folk who have wealth within Dür are extremely well off and create many of the luxuries the world uses today. Galvaka is an industrial center that focuses on the production of luxury items that are exported locally and internationally.
Structure
The nation of Galvaka only had a capital to it's name with surrounding areas being primarily militarized defenses set into the mountains. Due to it's placement inside mount Heinios it is ripe for a mining community. This mining community used to be made up of several families that all had equal stake in the capital. Each family was given a sector of the city to look over. The Braun family organized the food supply into Galvaka, including the small farm communities to the north and south. The Ikker family was known to be the "muscle" within Galvaka, training and regulating the guards. The second to last family the Hurkers were known for the construction and development of shelters within Galvaka. Due to recent events there is only the largest family, Galvas, still remaining. Before they were the family who underwent the entire mining operations within Galvaka. This family is the sole decider on what happens and has both a patriarch and matriarch who are seated at the top.
Culture
Galvaka is full of a simple people, who want nothing more than to do their jobs and go home with their families for the day. Their culture is very traditional and family oriented, where many of the people in a family have jobs(including children). They are extremely fiscal and have an merchant economy, and the families own a majority of the space where shops are set in. This merchant economy has led to some inside Galvaka to be more cutthroat than other nations to ensure that their family gets ahead. They are generally a people that want to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and live a life dedicated to something they want to do.
Public Agenda
Galvas, the ruling family has decreed that all people's shall live freely under Galvaka, and to not be hindered by the ideas of the monarchists and collectivists around them.
Assets
They sit within the mountain of Heinios and have access to a plethora of ores, gems, and stones. Their most important asset is a type of gemstone that seems to be a common magically replenished artifact within these mountains. These gemstones are used in every magical weapon and focus within the entire continent. While there are other places that can access these, the largest is within Galvaka. Beyond this they have some of the best trained smiths and craftsman in the continent, and are the sole-creators of magical crafting, the art of infusing items with magical properties.
History
This country started as a group of families that all lived within the mountains and had desperate orders, lifestyles, and traditions. Slowly over time the people's congregated and started the city of Dür in 512 CE. This city has stood the test of time and has been the only land-route between Fusilis and Therris, which as brought them to war with these nations time and time again. The most notable was the War of the Burning Sun when Fusilis and Therris launched a joint assault in 1600 CE that broke through the walls surrounding Dür. Since then a peace treaty has been brokered by the nations since 1753 CE.
Military
Their military is one of the furthest advanced in the area. Through continued aid from Therris during most wars they were able to jump start their military and throw production into full swing. The military force is the same as the guard in the city, and unlike most guard which primarily use breastplates and chainmail. Most of the guard in Therris can be seen outfitted with full plate or firearms. Its through their extreme defensive force and ties with Nepta that they are able to keep their cities from being taken by Fusilis or Therris.
Agriculture & Industry
This city has small farms to the north and south, though recently due to the salted earth tactics employed by Fusilis they are unable to get any usable land in the south. Their primary point of contact is Nepta, who ship them a plethora of goods, as well as produce from Vive directly. Their primary industries involve the mining, construction, stone working, and smithing of Galvaka. They are one of the only places with usable magical runes in their mountain, and they are replenishing by the cart-load. This means that magic items, and equipment are their specialty.
Mythology & Lore
Galvaka's religious center believes that each and every heritage has a right to worship and express their pantheons beliefs openly. The most common religious belief in Galvaka is that the people of Galvaka were designed from the magma of mount Heinios by two long dead entities. They do not necessarily worship them as gods, but they see them as more forces of nature. Their primarily beliefs are in entities called "The Earthen Worm" and "The Essence of Fire", which they believe came together to form their people. Though not every person agrees with the same information coming after creation, this is because Galvaka was a culmination of many tribes and the folklore to each individual tribe has been lost to history. Now only the basic creation story remains.
Divine Origins
The origins of this are based in tribal worship of the elements that brought these people together. The tribes worshiped the mountains and would commonly have pilgrimages to it as a coming of age ceremony. This nature worship then turned to personify these forces in some way. Though each tribe had their own heros, stories, and mythos, the common links are The Essence of Fire, and the Earthen Worm.
Cosmological Views
The earth shook, and beneath it, magma poured out from the very core. Then, as time went on and the magma cooled, small statues of people's could be seen dotting the mountains, slowly they were morphed and shaped into what we now know as the heritages of this land. These people's formed the tribes that would one day turn into the families that ruled over Galvaka as lords.
Priesthood
Priests of Galvaka do not distinguish themselves from their followers, and have a very down to earth approach to priesthood. Anyone in Galvaka can attain priesthood as it is seen as something that should be readily available to all people. The religion of Galvaka is one of the least spread on the continent, due to their reluctance to preach to masses and have formal gatherings.
