Hurker Family
One of the four original families that had stake in Galvaka. The Hurker family was one of the first to fail, specifically after the main family house was found set ablaze by a kitchen accident with many of the family members inside. A lower cousin of the family, named Garold Hurker, and merged the family with the Galvas family, changing the house name.
Structure
Just like the other families of Galvaka this family relied on the barons to make decisions for the rest of the family. All matters of serious note were brought before them, or their close council(usually their children) and they spoke on the subject. Usually the eldest child would inherit the property, but that was not always the case as in this family, it was the baron duo themselves that chose their successor, and many times a distant relative was chosen as their partner. The act of choosing the successors partner stopped around 1212 when the barons selected ended up poisoning each other due to the hatred held for one another. This sparked the family to let the baron try and find a partner for themselves, sometimes leading to long stints of only having one baron for hundreds of years.
Assets
The Hurker family was in charge of the 4th district, which contained the upper and lower commons which houses the people of Galvaka. They were the rent collectors of the city, and as such controlled much of the common folks housing. They were not known to play favorites for their families, and would fairly judge and assess people's living situation needs and abide by them.
Disbandment
This organization ended after the family house in the noble quarters set alight due to a kitchen malfunction. The eldest children and most of the direct Hurker family were within the house and none lived to tell the tale. The next successor was a cousin of the Hurker family who took this opportunity to swear an oath to join the Galvas family and moved the Hurker family under their name.
