The Barons of Red
Baron Helga and Onrik Galvas (a.k.a. The Barons of Red)
The Barons of Red are Helga and Onrik Galvas. They are the current matriarch and patriarch of the Galvas family. They control a majority of the ongoing within Galvaka and oversee the several lords within the city that oversee districts. The Duke, Orn Galvas was born after Helga Galvas married Onrik Stonefist, who is a Therris General.

Personal history
Helga started as the 3rd child of the family of Galvas, born to the direct stem of family. She was not supposed to be the heir to the thrown, until her eldest sister and older brother both came to a sickness and died early, leaving her as the next heir. She was granted to go through the ritual, which included a public coronation for the family by Galvaka in the noble quarters. All of the families attended the coronation and were there to support and give her gifts. She was seen as one of the most kind and helpful leaders of the family, continuing Galvas's family traditions.
Onrik was like any other child, and at the age of 13 they were drafted into the youth corps, where they were one of the strongest of their class. After going through youth corps, Onrik was put into guard duty at 15, instead of opting to go into combat given there was a peaceful time. Onrik then chose to join in the War of the Burning Sun, which is where they climbed the ranks up to General. They were one of the few Generals who chose not to invade Dur, which at first they were sanctioned for, but later those sanctions were lifted and praise was given for his strategy and restraint.
Helga and Onrik met during a peacetime between Galvaka and Therris. Onrik was a general in the Therris army, but retired at the ripe age of 100 to live in Gavlaka. This was done by Onrik because Onrik believed it would help relations between the two countries. It wasn't long until after the marriage that Orn was born, and the purges started.
During the purges, Onrik and Helga's relationship was strained. Onrik disagreed heavily with Helga's purges, but due to their foriegn blood they were unable to do anything. Onrik was not used to the hierarchy that was instilled within Galvaka's culture. Each family was subjugated or purged. Those that allied with the Galvas family were promoted to lordships and given districts to rule over and tax as they saw fit, the Galvas family taking a cut from each Lords' taxes. Those who were subjugated took the Galvas family power and those who did not agree with their rule were destroyed using undercover tactics. Some were taken over internally by lower family members looking for power, and some were outright destroyed further into the purges.
Education
Onrik was taught under Therris's public education
Helga was given a private tutor by her family, she was the 3rd child(at first) and was given an education that did not include governance and the laws of Galvaka.
Relationships
History
Garold was the last known surviving family member of the Hurker Family Manor fire. The Barons were known for taking Garold under their wing at a young age, slowly perverting them into a Galvas. Their intent is to replace Orn with them due to Orn's lack of interest in taking the throne.
