Treated Grafitium

For this reason, determining the correct item to receive the treatment and ensuring the plans are written in ink, not mud (so to speak) is of vital importance. If the cut is wrong and then it's treated, there is no undoing it."
History
Grafitium in its original form was developed during the War Age on Teras, P'Ache Prime, and was used as both for both weapons and shielding devices. There were, at the time, several groups of Primians who took credit for this invention, but the importance of that has long since faded. Being light and robust, grafitium was heavily used during the Space Age in the manufacture of spacecraft and then again during the Expansion Age to erect temporary structures. This last use is by far the most important because it was its use for this purpose on P'Ache Micro during the initial treaty negotiations which started in 221 PT which led to the development of the Crystallinal Wash. As, while grafitium was robust, untreated it could not last longer than a few years against the heat and humidity of P'Ache Micro without erosion occurring. It was the first material to be treated and to this day makes up 43.91% of the products which are treated within the Peacekeeper Alliance.Treated
When Peacekeepers talk about a material being treated in this sense, they refer to the process known as a Crystallinal Wash. This process condenses the molecular structure, making breaking it down again close to impossible.
The process was developed to deal with the heat and humidity of the swamps on P'Ache Micro in the early 200s PT but has since become standard practice for the manufacture of many Peacekeeper products.
Utility
Treated grafitium is used today for all Peacekeeper aircraft and vehicles, as well as several other important technologies which are required to last under high-stress conditions. Examples of a few of these can be found below.Related Articles
