Brown Lands

This devestated area has no vegetation, and the only animals seen are a few birds, and those tend to be BLACK SWANS that are spies of MORDOR.  This is an unnatural place as it was caused by a vicious action of Sauron to turn what had once been a beautiful and fruitful plain into a harsh desert so that the allies of the SECOND AGE could not use it for operations during their war against him.
It is thought to have been the site of the GARDENS OF THE ENTWIVES .

Geography

Stretching between Southern Mirkwood and the Mountains of MORDER.  It is not a natural area and has no other boundaries but the end of the desolation that was wrought to create it.
