Iron Hills
This small range of mountains is noted for the sharp sides but modest heights. It is home to the DWARF HOME of IRONHOLD where the DWARVES OF THE IRON HILLS RESIDE reside. These Dwarves came here when they fled Smaug, The Magnificent, and his capture of Erebor.
This is the Easternmost hold of the Dwarves, and has been the subject of many attacks by ORCS and Men from the East. The Hills themselves provided an abundance of Iron, and these Dwarves have long been known for their expertise in weaponry and other works of iron.
The location and nature of this Dwarf Home has led to these Dwarves being of a largely martial nature. Even the design of these halls is largely about defense with little of the opulence or grandeur of other Dwarf Homes.
DAIN I , left Ironhold to assume the Kingship of Erebor, with the Iron Hills remaining under his suzerainty. His son THORIN STONHELM is serving as KIN OF THE IRON HILLS .
