The Explorer's Way
The path into things unknown.
"It is this path that the Harani traveled. We will stop everywhere we know they did and see if they left anything behind. Once we reach Line's Edge, we will rest and resupply. Then we can put the compasses away because they will be no good to us after we pass the navigation boundary. Before we set off into the unknown, you will have one last chance to leave the crew and get the next supply ship back to Breharan."
A Place of Adventurers
The Explorer's Way is a geographical area defined by the places explored by the first skyship - the Harani - and her crew. The Way is split into two parts by something known as the limit of navigation, the point at which the effects of the Cynosure Stone - located off the edge of Breharan near Darapur are no longer felt and compasses cease to function. The second part is the mysterious beyond that has seen a few expeditions into it but is still mostly a vast, blank, space on the map. None of the knowledge of this region comes from the Harani which went missing in that region before returning any notes or journals but is still considered part of the Explorer's Way as a way to honour them. Before the Line
The first section of the Explorer's Way - the part before the limit of navigation - is fairly well documented. It includes several large areas that were first discovered by the crew of the Harani.Kestatol
The skycontinent from which the lizardfolk come. This massive island is home to many different biomes and creatures known well to the inhabitants but thought exotic by the people of Breharan. The Shattered Isles
A large region of skyislands ranging from small to tiny. It is extremely difficult to navigate and is best flown around. Home to the locustana archipelegius this place is considered very dangerous. The Stormy Expanse
A large region bathed in clouds most of the year. Here a wind from below near-constantly forces up the storms of the Floor making visibility poor and flying through it a wet - not to mention unpleasant - endeavor.Line's Edge
The furthest outpost established by the people of Breharan. It was intended to be the last point of resupply for future missions beyond the line but interest in such expeditions has dwindled in recent years. After the Line
While the Harani and her crew never returned from beyond the line and none of their journals were ever retrieved, other ships and crews have ventured beyond the limit of navigation and returned some information about what is to be found there. The Forest of Storms
Incredibly tall trees reach all the way from their bases on islands in the Void through the Floor to reach their wide branches into the light of the skies. Skysailors - superstitious as they are - say it isn't right to see trees coming out of a storm cloud. The Glass Pools
A skyisland with unusual lakes of sheer glass. No scholar can explain how this happened with any meaningful degree of certainty. Glassblowers have been trying to create a glass as smooth and as clear as this since word of it made it all the way back from the Way.Jaran's Pit
An inexplicable hole in the Floor. Peering into it reveals only darkness, despite the light that shines down from above. The Pit creates an insatiable curiosity about itself and has spawned many popular modern myths and artworks back on Breharan. The Vast
A wide empty stretch of sky containing no landmasses. What lies on the other side is unknown as no ship has arrived here with enough resources remaining to make the trip across it twice. It is possible that the Harani made it across but was unable to return.Stub Article

The Other Ways
There are several main arteries of skyship travel determined by the prevailing winds that make travel the easiest in each area. Each is given a different name based on the qualities of the route, save for the Way which is named so to dedicate it to the lost first crew. Winter's Run heads from Breharan into the cold winter wind - the one named Haira by the Orth and is primarily used when it is overwhelmed by the summer wind for outbound travel and return travel as the season changes to autumn and then winter. The Harvest Trail, also called the Slide, is a route that travels past several of the Colonies and is named so for the resources that are brought to Breharan on the return trip. The beginning of the trip involves flying perpendicularly to either the summer or winter wind and that flight maneuver has become known as a slide. The Tangle heads towards the wild wind and also finds many places where other winds meet. The route is traveled only by experienced skysailors because the winds can change suddenly but a good crew on this route will never lack wind in their sails. On our next voyage, I hope to travel beyond the limit we discovered. Everything before it was unknown to us but something about it, about going beyond that boundary, our safety line, it calls me even more strongly.
