Vastplain Building / Landmark in Laminarum | World Anvil

Vastplain (Vost-plain)

Vastplain was originally an offshoot of the Eldursteries, intended to serve as a port for the mountain dwellers themselves so that they could exchange information quickly down south. Unfortunately, the Eldursteries' need for efficiency wasn't enough to convince the government of Eldurgrund that it was worth the time to build. As the port section was mostly finished, the land was given off to the Hestafulk Family, distant relatives of the Turases.   The keep has served the family well with its ample space to grow crops and a position along the main trade roads of the Augury. As well as it serves the family, they have little to provide Eldurgrund aside from crops and faith. The land is not known to breed warriors, artisans, or even crops of particular rarity. Fortunately though, the land requires a massive amount of workers to maintain, making them great employers for any peasants, but particularly those that go through the The Orc-Urr Aegis. Apparently, there is even a locally famous Urrfolk that tends their wheat, making him the only known employed Urr (by the name Gathornz) within Eldurgrund.

Architecture

The castle has a concentric design, with 3 baileys and a gatehouse for each wall (all aligned). The stone of the castle was white but has darkened with time. Most of the towers are for guards specifically, but this keep has its own self sufficient church with a bell tower in the middle that stands high above the others, and is used when it is time for the people along their territory to awake.
