Fingerless Gulf

The Fingerless Gulf is a body of water on the western coast of Trinen that holds the ancestral island of the Urrfolk. Its name arose from its shape, that of a hand with nothing but a thumb.
The gulf is the home of a valuable port town for Eldurgrund, primarily valued for transfer of resources to Caripreet or the J'barri, on rare occasion.

Localized Phenomena

Although it is hardly a normal occurrence, the gulf has been terrorized by a sea beast for the better part of 60 years. It is believed to have drifted from the waters of Renad when the attacks on ships began. While stories vary, the general consensus is that the creature is three galleons long, with a blood red eye, the flipper of a whale, and a dozen squid tentacles.
The legends say that when it drags its quarry into the depths, it is in the name of a blood ritual that will release more of its hellspawn upon the world. This creature is known as Sturmavthur.
