{0,0} Jaytown
Lore Summary
Founded by Jay, this town has marked the beginning of the journey to the New Pangaea for many. Alongside Jay, the first arrivals were Trent, Lena and Wagner, each of whom now run very profitable businesses selling basic adventuring gear to residents and new arrivals alike. Through the efforts of a large variety of dangerous quests, characters from Old World and New have settled into the thriving town, setting up buildings, businesses, workshops and even mansions. It continues to grow and provide sanctuary to all new adventurers and old faces, as long as they agree to abide by its rules. In order to maintain Jaytown as a safe-haven, a magical barrier was constructed over it to ensure that any adventurers are not able to injure, kill, or steal from each other or the inhabitants of Jaytown unless bot parties agree. The barrier also maintains the status quo in town so inhabitants can be confident things will largely be found as they were left. The origins of the barrier are unknown, and Jay deflects all questions about it. Jay himself currently abides in a large mansion, where he holds extravagant parties such as the Bladesinger Ball. The adventurers that live in the town are fond of celebration, and tales spread across the Pangaea of Jaytown’s famous festivals, most notably the drunken merriment of Greengrass and the spirited gift-giving at Winter Solstice. Jaytown has drawn the attention of the diverse and eclectic pre-existing inhabitants of the Pangaea, creating prosperous relationships and adventuring opportunities for many. It also attracts the interest of those with far more sinister motivations, like cultists, liches and even mysterious extraplanar entities. The people of Jaytown do not fear, as they have withstood already disasters wrought by immensely powerful beings, such as the roaring tsunamis of the ‘Voice of the Deep’ and the raging blizzards caused by the Ukanlos (a colossal Elder Dragon). The area around the town has also been established safe and peaceful through the efforts of a long line of adventurers, overcoming the dangers that initially beset it, such as undead spirits, mephits, kelpies, oblexes, chuul, kobolds and lots and lots of goblinsStoryhooks
