The Underworld Organization in Jay's Pangaea | World Anvil

The Underworld

The Underworld is a criminal organization with no set home or base of operations. Instead, they take root in any settlement with even a tiny crime percentage, and if there is none, they start it themselves. Upon completion, the guild members ranging from Informants, Operatives, Spies, Smugglers, or Black Market Dealers begin establishing organized crime and search for opportunities that the guild can turn to a reward. These missions are for those unsavory individuals who have no qualm with how they obtain their coins.   Those wishing to obtain membership within this guild must make up some qualities from a list further below. However, you can negotiate some of the rules.   The goal of The Underworld is to bring wealth to its members and corruption to the streets they roam. Therefore, illegal acts are not only allowed but also encouraged within the ranks, so long as it follows a small set of non-negotiable guidelines known as “The Three Circles of The Underworld.” However, the leadership only serves to enforce those rules; anything else is typically fair game. The rules are in place to keep those individuals who simply wish to reak havoc rather than be thoughtful about their actions at bay, and those who may report the misdeeds committed are at a healthy distance.   The Underworld’s symbol pictured above represents a portal of blood to the Demonic Plane surrounded by stone. The ripples themselves are the liquid making up the portal, and the three dots represent the rules that protect the Guild from the outside and the inside. The logo is typically left at the scene of a crime The Underworld created.   Lastly, despite the guild’s colorful actions, we are by no means a bandit/raider/anarchist group, quite the opposite. Organized crime is the order between criminals, and for those within is considered a brotherhood/sisterhood. “Order is what makes us effective. Without it, our actions will just be brought right back down on top of us.”
