Segai campaign on Damus

Introduction

At the beginning of time, Damus was a beautiful garden of Narmiraen, the home of the Surta elves and Greendragons. A few adventurous Dwarves and Giants came here at Jomril's will to help the Goddess in her work.
When the island became overgrown with the jungle and populated by animals, Vangrakath decided it would be an ideal hunting ground for his own people, the Segai beastman. This became the homeland of this powerful race, for whose arrival the other inhabitants of the continent where not prepared.
Demography of Damus:
  • Sutra elves: 400,000
  • Greendargons: 49
  • Segai beastman: 15,000
  • Dwarves: 30,000

Segai expansion

The Segaii needed a leader, and Vangrakath considered only the strongest worthy for this title. He called his warriors for a life-or-death duel for the first place. In the end, Shadbak, the rhino-segai, emerged victorious. She become the first Chieftain of the Segai, and the God gave her the unholy artifact, the Fangs of Vangrakath. With this legendary greataxe at her side, she conquered the lands between White River and the Crystal River in a matter of weeks. After the first Surta elf tribe was slaughtered, the two others fled form the region, and it's earned the name: "Hunting grounds". Only one opponent remained.

The city of Darahl lay on the other side of the Claw Mountains, and the Dwarves retreated to their mountain home from the approaching Segai warband. The Segaii were not prepared for a siege either in terms of technology or military experience.
The siege, which lasted for five years, was finally brought to an end by luck. The city of the Dwarves was flooded after an extraordinary storm and in the turmoil, Shadbak had the opportunity to berak down the city's huge, ironed stone gate with her godly weapon. After that, the battle continued for another month in the depths of the mountain, in the end none of the townspeople were left alive.

For the next ten years, there was a desperate struggle for the southern territories of the continent. The Surta Fumar tribe eventually took in the refugee Elves and set foot on their ancestral land, forcing the Segai invaders to a halt. The Ahne tribe sought the protection of the Greendragons, and most of its members migrated north with their families. The Surta elven Opand, Kicre and Erta tribes banded together, and founded a Surta elven empire, the Sadara Kingdom, whose capital was Anisera.

An era in Damus' history ended, when ships arrived and the remaining Dwarves sailed away from the continent. (Some of the Giants still remained there, and they descendants still live here today.)
Demography of Damus:

Damus' Doom

After rescuing his people, Jomril with his divine power, raised volcanoes around the continent, an event that became known as Damus' Doom. After the disaster, most of the continent became uninhabitable. The Greendragons fought with all their might to keep their territory intact. The Surta elf survivors gathered in the Sadara Kingdom, hoping that an alliance with the Council could save them and their land. The Segai didn't give up on the devastated lands, but headed north through the swampy area near the Sunken Lake, believing that the Elves had abundant resources.
At the same time, a new force opened a portal between the Core and the Elemental plane of Fire. Then Firedragons arrived on Damus, adding to the Destruction.

The last siege

The Segai hunters did not encounter much resistance in the destroyed areas. After six years, the remaining Elves where pushed back to Anisera. The continent, except of The Grove and the capital's area became the realm of the Beastman. Seeing the retreat of the Elves, and the state of the continent, some of the Segai hunters decided to follow the Dwarves into Evera. They were nowhere near as efficient shipwright as the other race, they still managed to leave the homeland, wreaking the havoc on the inhabitants of Utea, Lifeon and the Costae Islands. The remaining Beastman besieged long, until they think that not a single living Elf remained within the walls. The Surta elves retreated into the cave systems beneath the city's catacombs. Left alone themselves, they no longer had the strength to fight against the attackers.
