Surta elves (suur-ta)

Wood elves are excellent at adapting to new situations and people. They are shorter in appearance than the mystical elves, but taller than their northern brethren. Their hair varies from darker blonde to deep brown, and their eyes are mostly deep blue, green or hazel. The Surta elves initially (and still do in some places) lived in tribes, which were usually headed by the First Hunter or the high priestess of Narmiraen.
Mainly due to migrations and territory occupations caused by Segaii, Dwarves and later Humans, the Surta tribes had to put aside their contradictions and gather in alliances or outright feudal empires for their own survival. Unfortunately, this did not succeed everywhere, and the people who lived there suffered greatly from the changes in history, the survivors integrated more or less well into the new majority society.
Surta elves try to live their everyday lives in balance with nature. They generally reject evilness. In the majority of communities, only allowed to women become priests. Priestesses stand at the pinnacle of society as mediators of their goddess. They are followed by druids, shamans and warriors, who are usually called Hunters.

Általános szokások, hagyományok, rituálék

Once a year, at midsummer, the Night of a Thousand Stars is celebrated. At this time, they make a sacrifice to their creator goddess, and most couples take an oath of loyalty to each other (without an intermediary).

Születési és keresztelő rítusok

Wood elves do not have many children, one or two per family is typical. If the parents cannot take care of the child, a member of the community takes over the caregiving tasks. Simple names inspired by nature are considered favorable.

Temetési és megemlékezési rítusok

Their dead are buried in the ground, usually under trees, in deeper graves. The grave is dug by the family or an authorized person, the preparation and placement of the body is carried out by the priest, often alone. The family keeps the grief to themselves. The community treats the dead as a taboo: they try not to mention it. The only exceptions to this are great heroes and mighty rulers: their names are preserved in songs for many generations.

The realm of the Surta elves on the continent of Lifeon spans three kingdoms; these lie on the islands of Ayozira, Ineria and Eteria.
On the island of Ayozira, two races lived in peace for a long time. The Segaii who settled here, seeing the overwhelming force, lived in peace with the native Elves for a while, until a few decades ago the situation changed, and the "guests" occupied the entire piece of land. The remaining Surta elves were scattered around the world. The surviving descendant of the last dynasty, Dann Vel, currently resides in the Southern Kingdom (Lifeon).
Ineria is the mystical, industrial and commercial center of the eastern region of Lifeon, best known for its magical ingredients. The empire led by Queen Korire has an army and fleet equipped with the most modern and powerful weapons. It is no secret that the country employs tens of thousands of slaves.
Eteria is further north from the other two islands. All ships avoid the coasts, which are surrounded by high mountains and covered with dense forests, from afar. No one had seen the elves there for centuries.
