Fangs of Vangrakath Item in Evera | World Anvil

Fangs of Vangrakath

+3 bonus to Attack and Damage. Double damage to dragons.
A legendary relic of Vangrakath, what he made from the bones of Gyndrian, the ancient Dragon God.
When Gyndrian died, the Dragon Goddess created Evera as a final resting place for him. All kind of dragons lived on the Core, before the deities created their peoples. When Vangrakath made the Segaii in the First Age of Damus, he took some of the great dragon god's bones, and also created his unholy artifact, the Fangs of Vangrakath, to gave it to the most worthy. The massive greataxe is made from dragon bones. It has a wild blade and stable handle, which is also excellent for defense. The weapon is beautifully decorated, worthy of a god or a great hunter (all Segai warriors called as hunters). Vangrakath most fearsome dogma: "Only the strong survive" is carved into its blade in cuneiform writing in the Beast language. It never wears out and no mortal can break it. Its longer and heavier than most weapons, it requires great skill and strength to wield.
As an artifact of Vangrakath, it is bound to its creator and poisons its bearer's soul with his bloodlust. While the weapon itself has no soul or intelligence, it is the perfect tool to convey the deity's will.
The first wielder of the Fangs was Shadbak, a rhino-segai Chieftain. Then his second-born son earned it, when defeated his elder brother in a duel.
Later the unholy relic lost in the mist of the history of Damus, and even the Segaii only tell stories about it. The Bena elves have already forgotten this cursed weapon, but the myths of the Dwarves still have some sad tales about the great evilness of the Segaii.
The Fangs of Vangrakath currently is lost somewhere in Damus. Perhaps it rests in the depth of an ancient Elven ruin or in a Firedragon's treasure trove?

Sounds like a powerful, but dangerous weapon. I can't help but wonder if it's better off lost...

Indeed. Since Vangrakath is currently imprisoned on the Elemental Plane of Fire, perhaps he would use the "lucky" mortal who finds it to rush to his aid!
