The Night of Apopshe Organization in Derkomai | World Anvil

The Night of Apopshe

The Night of Apopshe is a secret guild, sisterhood, and cult of spies, assassins, and terrorists run by House Alierma from Isolabirre. The members of The Night are Aelriat and Medriat of the House, known as Shadows. The leader of the guild is known as the Umbral. She is a Gowriat of House Alierma, Asuha Gowriat'Alierma.

Structure

The Night of Apopshe has no distinctions among its operatives. There is only the Umbral and her Shadows. They all answer to the Tygowriat of House Alierma, Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma, but she does not interfere with the usual operations of The Night, trusting (to a certain extent) Asuha Gowriat'Alierma to execute her plans.

Culture

The Night of Apopshe exists to serve three purposes. First, it expands the power and influence of House Alierma on Derkomai. Its successes increase its influence amongst the other Drow Elvirim noble Houses in Isolabirre and elsewhere. Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma plans and schemes to surpass House Zaquarn. The Night of Apopshe is a component of her plans. Second, through terror, chaos, and assassinations, it weakens Human and Elvirim societies, giving the Drow space to further their own society and execute their own plans. Last, but most importantly, it executes tasks that meet the needs and desires and further the plans of the Yfeljang, Edan.

Public Agenda

All of the activities and plans of The Night of Apopshe are covert.

Assets

The Night of Apopshe has access to all of the assets of House Alierma. Whatever is required is provided.

History

The Night of Apopshe was created by Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma when she took power in House Alierma. Her vision, along with her trusted aide, Asuha Gowriat'Alierma, was to create a covert organization that would undermine and weaken other societies, especially Human and Elvirim societies, increasing the influence of the Drow Elvirim and the prestige of her House, giving her more room in which to expand and execute her own plans to surpass House Zaquarn in Isolabirre.   At the Tygowriat's command and with her advice, Asuha Gowriat'Alierma, starting from the core of Aelriat she had already trained, drafted competent and capable Medriat and Aelriat into her new organization, teaching them advanced techniques of espionage, assassination, seduction, propaganda, and recruitment.   Once enough Medriat and Aelriat were trained, The Night of Apopshe began working to establish The Order of Apopshe, a Human adjunct and subservient organization. Starting initially in Teiyon, then in Koyon, Rigosland, and then in Sudland, the Shadows of The Night of Apopshe began recruiting Human members into cells of the new Order. The Shadows found that many were easily brought into the cells and their loyalty ensured with money and personal favors, often very personal. Before long, cells of the Order were carrying out thefts and vandalism, distributing propaganda, and even an committing an occasional murder at the direction of the Shadows of The Night.   The success of The Night of Apopshe did not go unnoticed by the other Drow Houses of Isolabirre, and soon Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma was approached by Sazzok Tygowriat'Zaquarn, Tygowriat of House Zaquarn and Interface to the Yfeljang. She said, "The Yfeljang demands your obedience. He has tasks that must be accomplished amongst the round ears. Your Night of Apopshe will execute them without fail or die in the attempt. Obsidian will direct Asuha Gowriat'Alierma as needed. Do you have any objections?"   What could she say? Defying the Yfeljang and the Interface would be an immediately fatal mistake. She replied, "No objections, of course. But use of my Shadows and resources must be compensated appropriately." The Interface said, "Naturally. Your Gowriat of finances can work with mine on the details. If you have nothing more to say, I will take my leave. Goodbye."   From that point on, The Night of Apopshe was subordinated to and worked with Obsidian, the covert operatives of House Zaquarn. Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma was livid, and vowed that she would take down House Zaquarn one day, but at the time, she could do nothing.

Tenets of Faith

The Night of Apopshe honors Apopshe by sowing chaos and discord, using it to weaken Human and Elvirim societies, furthering the aims of the Drow Elvirim, House Alierma, and the Yfeljang. Apopshe requires nothing else. As a manifestation of chaos and darkness, there is no organized worship of Apopshe.

Ethics

The Night of Apopshe has no ethics. The Shadows will take any action required to execute the orders given to them.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The very purpose of Night of Apopshe is political intrigue and influence; however, disputes and conflict between the noble Drow Elvirim Houses are outside its mandate, per agreement between Sazzok Tygowriat'Zaquarn of House Zaquarn and Luaraenil Tygowriat'Alierma of House Alierma.
